| Hydro featuring Lorna |
| In 1979 our neighbors to the north were putting out some of the hottest disco music to grace the American club scene. One of the leading producers of that music was Joe LaGreca. Joe brought us Montreal Sound, Peter Batah, and most importantly Carol Jiani. Another discovery of LaGreca's was Lorna DiFiore. Other than her credits on the Hydro album nothing exsists to document Lorna's career before or after it's release. The Hydro album spawned several major club hits in the summer of 1979. "K.I.C. (Keep It Coming)," "I'll Make Your Day Tonight" and "Stop Your Teasing" were all 12" singles. The DJ records release in Canada was picked up by Prism for distribution here in America. Promoting it's release was a 2-12" singles package of the album followed by the various 12" singles. Oddly in this case the ALBUM version of "Stop Your Teasing" remains the version to enjoy. Despite it's success there wasn't another Hydro album released and by the following year LaGreca had moved on to launching the career of Carol Jiani. Lorna seems to have disappeared so if anyone has any further information on her or her career please share it with us. In the meantime find your copy of "Hydro featuring Lorna" and enjoy! |
