| The Pointer Sisters |
| With the sad passing of Baby June this month we thought it only fitting to honor the sisters from Oakland. They didn't start out their careers as disco artists. But they will not doubt be remembered for those classic 1980's dance tracks. From second hand clothes and jazz scat numbers in the early 1970's. To a timeless country song in the mid-1970's (the first black females to appear on the Grand Ole Opry), to rock covers in the late 1970's. Then the emergence of their disco diva personas in the 1980's. Ruth, Anita and June affected more than one generation......peace Baby June! |
