| WOW!...with the recent passing of James we find it only fitting to honor this icon of the music world. He's been around for my entire life. I remember seeing him in the 1967 film "Ski Party" as an 8-year old and thinking.."Cool." He shimmied in for his number and shimmied out, and no one could shimmy like Jimmy! Known as the "GODFATHER OF SOUL" he made his bid for disco hits, but he never quite hit the mark during disco's golden years. However in the 1980's he finally scored major club success with "Living In America" and "Gravity." And as with any superstar there was the scandals. The weird stories, the mysterious deaths, the police chases and the awful mug shots. Still when I think back on J.B. I laugh as I recall Eddie Murphey's brilliant impersonation of him. "Goin' in the hottub, hottub...aaaw!" |
