| A string of pop hits started with 1962's "Don't Make Me Over." She found her greatest success via her work with Hal David and Burt Bacharach. Dionne, always one to go for a quick buck (think "Psychic Friends Network"), jumped on the disco bandwagon early on. A rare and highly coveted 7" 45 on Warner Brothers in 1975 of "Once You Hit The Road" and "Track Of The Cat," both of which are remixed on the "disco 45," were major club entries. After that she went back to her pop successes until 1983's "Got A Date." 2 different 12" singles of "Date" brought her once again into the club world. After her scandals in the 1990's (reports of her not paying American Express) she has kept a rather low profile since. |
