| The Jewish princess who clawed her way up from the chorus line on Broadway to a long term contract and production deal with Disney Pictures is affectionately known as the "Divine Miss M." Her love affair with her gay audiences is legendary. One would think her disco career would have been stronger? An early 1976 12" single of "Strangers In The Night" received minimal exposure. She waited three years to try it again. 1979 saw the excellent 12" singles of "Big Noise From Winnetka" and "My Knight In Black Leather" however she missed the disco boat and the singles flopped. She waited another four years (1983) to release "Only In Miami" and "Beast Of Burden" to better results. She tried again in 1991 with "Moonlight Dancing" and in 1994 with "To Deserve You," needless to say they didn't top any charts. But then singing has always been only one of her many talents. |
